About the artist…
Amy Drury Sullivan
From a young age, growing up in Lowell, Massachusetts, I, along with my sisters, had a firm grounding in arts; from painting, pottery, sketching, and printmaking, but my real inspiration was the wonderful creations that came out of my mother's sewing room. I graduated from the University of Maine with a major in painting and print-making. Since college, my paintings and prints have been featured in many art shows and galleries.
I spent time away from my studio to start my family, and got back to art after the birth of my second son; but soon fell in love with quilting. The textures, patterns, and utilitarian purpose that no other media but fabric can provide inspired me to make modern, stylized takes on the rustic and homely styles of traditional quilts.
My goal has and always will be to make useful, beautiful, well-made quilts to be passed down from generation to generation.
